Honoring Holocaust Survivors Who Made Florida Home From Our Family of Solel.  There is still time to add a name.

The Florida Holocaust Memorial, unveiled this past March at the State Capitol in Tallahassee, honors Holocaust survivors who later made Florida their home. The Memorial records their names, the Florida cities where they lived, and, when available, a photograph.

Our longtime member Eleanor Sobel helped lead this effort more than a decade ago. She has asked that we share with the Solel community that there are still a very small number of no-cost options with no legislative appropriation needed to add a survivor’s name to the Memorial.

If a Holocaust survivor in your family, or someone you were close to, lived in Florida, you may still submit their name.  You can download the form here.

Eleanor has generously offered to help families with the process. Thank you Eleanor, for all your devotion!

2025 Holiday Season Toy Drive

Temple Solel’s Chanukah Party 2025

Our annual Hanukkah party, attended by nearly 160 community members, was a huge success, showcasing the strength of our community through laughter, great food, festive drinks, dancing, songs, and holiday spirit.

One of the night’s highlights was the ugly sweater contest, which sparked lots of creativity and friendly competition, adding to the festivity.

Thank you to the Sisterhood, Elizabeth Kaufman, and the Lebovich family for their support, which made this joyful community celebration possible. It was truly a night of togetherness, celebration, and Hanukkah fun that we won’t soon forget.
