Religious School/Youth

The Abe and Grace Durbin School of Living Judaism

Our value oriented religious school is dedicated to helping students and their families become more passionate and knowledgeable about Judaism. With a dedicated staff, led by our Religious School Director, Karen Kaye, our enthusiastic and creative faculty, provides both a traditional and innovative approach to Jewish education. Our goal is to provide a warm, family friendly environment where students and their families can learn the skills and knowledge to create a lasting and meaningful Jewish lifestyle. We always work to maintain a curriculum that changes with the needs of the children and their families.

Junior Youth Group grades 5 through 8

Our Junior Youth Group experiences a variety of programming throughout the year. We meet on a monthly basis in the Tate Family Youth Lounge. Pizza and nosh are always served. As most of the Junior Youth Group at Temple Solel are in the process of their bar and bat mitzvah training, the Junior Youth Group programming is based largely around social themes, with the goal of getting the students to make connections and friends with other Temple Solel middle schoolers. Being a part of our Junior Youth Group is an excellent way to make new friends and engage in programs and experience "LOTS OF JEWISH FUN" all at the same time. We create, we learn and we are involved in Tikkun Olam.

Annually, the eighth through tenth grades are invited to attend a weekend retreat in the Orlando or Tampa area. Students are accompanied by the Rabbi and the Education Director. The retreat includes religious services, social action and loads of fun as we visit one of the major amusement park attractions. It is always a huge success and a great bonding experience.
